Domestic Airfares Reduced After Decline in Jet Fuel Prices
The fare revision comes after recent adjustments in jet fuel prices
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Domestic airfares across Pakistan have been reduced following a decline in jet fuel prices, aviation industry sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, one-way fares from Islamabad to Quetta now range between Rs16,770 and Rs48,890.
Passengers travelling from Lahore to Quetta will pay between Rs12,020 and Rs44,140, while fares on the Karachi–Quetta route have been revised to between Rs13,603 and Rs44,000.
However, passengers will continue to pay an average fuel surcharge of Rs7,840 separately on all domestic tickets. Government taxes and other mandatory levies will also remain applicable, increasing the final cost for travellers.
Industry sources said that after adding fuel surcharges and taxes, the cost of a standard one-way domestic ticket generally exceeds Rs26,000. On certain routes, the final fare reaches around Rs26,755 under normal travel conditions.
The sources added that airfares are likely to increase during peak travel periods and for last-minute bookings. The maximum one-way fare on domestic routes can reach up to Rs58,875 during busy seasons or when tickets are purchased close to the departure date.
Officials said the highest domestic fares are generally charged on the Quetta–Islamabad and Karachi–Islamabad routes due to comparatively higher demand and operational costs.
The fare revision comes after recent adjustments in jet fuel prices, with airlines passing on part of the savings to passengers travelling on domestic routes.
