Shaheen Afridi Joins Kandy Royals for Lanka Premier League

PCB Clearance Expected as Shaheen Afridi Prepares for LPL Debut

COLOMBO: (Sports Desk) – Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to participate in the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL) after reportedly reaching an agreement with Kandy Royals.

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to issue Afridi a No Objection Certificate (NOC), allowing him to take part in the overseas franchise tournament.

After receiving clearance, the left-arm pacer will travel to Sri Lanka and join the Kandy Royals squad ahead of the competition.

Afridi’s arrival is expected to add significant strength to the team’s bowling department. Widely regarded as one of the most threatening fast bowlers in international cricket, he is known for his pace, swing, and ability to make early breakthroughs with the new ball.

The latest edition of the Lanka Premier League is scheduled to begin on July 17 in Sri Lanka, with several international cricket stars expected to feature in the tournament.

Organisers are hoping that the participation of leading overseas players will raise the standard of competition and increase global interest in the league.

Afridi has previously delivered impressive performances in franchise cricket competitions worldwide. Fans will be looking forward to seeing whether he can replicate that success and play a decisive role in Kandy Royals’ LPL campaign.
