Shaheen Shah Afridi Bowling Speed: “I’ll Bowl at 200kph”

Shah Afridi Bowling Speed Drops Due to Fatigue, But Pakistan Pacers Vow a Strong Comeback

Shaheen Shah Afridi – (Web Desk) – Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has openly addressed concerns around his team’s declining pace. He explained that continuous cricket without proper rest has slowed down the bowlers. He compared fast bowlers to machines, saying even machines need maintenance to perform at their best.

Pakistan recently returned from Bangladesh, where they lost both Test matches. During the series, the pacers bowled at average speeds in the mid-130s, which was noticeably slower than expected. Shaheen admitted fatigue played a role but assured fans that the entire team and management are actively working to bring the pace back.

On a lighter note, Shaheen joked with reporters that he would personally try to bowl at 200kph. This moment brought a smile to many fans while showing his confident and relaxed attitude ahead of a big series.

Pakistan is now preparing to host Australia in a three-match ODI series running from May 30 to June 4. Around 28 to 29 players trained together in Lahore under head coach Mike Hesson. Shaheen called the camp productive and said the sessions helped players find their rhythm after a gap in ODI cricket.

A highlight of the squad is the return of Babar Azam. Shaheen called him the backbone of the middle order. He expressed confidence that Babar’s strong PSL form will carry into the ODI series and help Pakistan win matches.
