PCB chairman elections likely to be held in Feb, Kakar accepts resignation of Zaka Ashraf
ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday appointed Shah Khawar as the acting Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief.
Khawar had already been appointed as the PCB election commissioner. The newly-appointed acting PCB chief will assume office tomorrow.
According to the details, Khawar will announce the governing board following consultations with the stakeholders.
Sources revealed that the PCB chairman elections will be held in the first week of February. Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Zaka Ashraf as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman.
Earlier on Friday, Ashraf resigned as the PCB management committee chairman. Ashraf had also decided to step down as the member of BoG.
Sources divulged that Ashraf had tendered his resignation from the post for not getting authority from the IPC.
The IPC had stopped the meeting of the management committee in Karachi on Tuesday. Ashraf had been asked not to take the decisions.

Ashraf wanted to take the decisions in line with the BoG and the elections.
The IPC had stopped Ashraf from holding the T-10 league.
Ashraf had tendered his resignation to the caretaker prime minister. If the premier will accept Ashraf’s resignation, then elections will have to be held by constituting the new BoG.
