Red iPhone Ultra Renders Debunked Ahead of Launch

ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – Apple’s highly anticipated first foldable iPhone, widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra, has sparked fresh online speculation after renders appeared showing the device in a striking red finish.

The excitement was short-lived, however, as the alleged color leak has reportedly been challenged by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who said Apple does not plan to offer its upcoming foldable in red.

Red iPhone Ultra Renders Fuel Online Speculation

Previous reports about Apple’s first foldable iPhone suggested that the device could arrive in traditional black and white finishes. Some reports even indicated that Apple might limit the initial color selection to white.

That speculation changed after prominent leaker Evan Blass posted renders that appeared to show the iPhone Ultra in a bright red finish.

Blass later shared additional images depicting the device in three different colors, prompting further speculation that Apple could introduce a distinctive new color alongside its first foldable iPhone.

Questions about the renders soon emerged, however. Observers reportedly noticed that the battery indicator in the images did not appear consistent with the interface expected in iOS 27 and instead looked more like the older iOS 26 design.

Mark Gurman Challenges Red Color Claims

The inconsistencies prompted speculation that the images could have been artificially generated or otherwise manipulated.

Gurman subsequently disputed reports that Apple was preparing red and green versions of the foldable iPhone. He also indicated that the renders shared online by Blass were connected to Xiaomi rather than Apple’s upcoming device.

The red handset appears to be associated with the Xiaomi 18 Fold, another book-style foldable that has recently featured in reports.

Xiaomi Foldable May Have Caused Confusion

The Xiaomi device reportedly bears similarities to the design expected for Apple’s foldable, potentially explaining why the renders were mistaken for the rumored iPhone Ultra.

Xiaomi has confirmed that its next foldable is scheduled to launch in September and is expected to feature the company’s XRING 03 chipset.

Although a red iPhone Ultra now appears unlikely, the leaked renders have generated considerable interest online, with many users reacting positively to the bold color.

Apple has previously offered red versions of its smartphones, including the iPhone 14 series and the third-generation iPhone SE.

iPhone Ultra Could Be Revealed Soon

Apple has officially scheduled its next major product event for September 9, when the company is expected to introduce its new iPhone lineup.

The event could provide the first official look at Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone and settle questions surrounding its design, specifications and color options.

For now, the rumored red finish remains unconfirmed, and the latest reports suggest that consumers should not expect Apple’s first foldable iPhone to arrive in red.
