Razia Noreen Nurse Honoured With Pakistan’s Top Civil Award

PIMS – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Razia Noreen nurse has become a name the whole country now knows. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that she will receive a civil award for saving a newborn baby during a fire at a hospital in Islamabad.

The prime minister met her at his office this week. He praised her bravery and said people would remember what she did for a long time to come.

The fire broke out in the hospital’s gynaecology ward, where fifteen newborn babies were being cared for. Sadly, fourteen of these babies lost their lives. Only one baby survived, and that baby is alive today because of Razia Noreen.

During the meeting, the prime minister thanked her personally. He said her courage during those terrifying moments was something the whole nation was proud of. He called her actions brave and selfless.

The nurse will be given the Tamgha-i-Khidmat, one of Pakistan’s respected civil honours. The prime minister said this award will be presented to her on March 23, which is celebrated across the country as Pakistan Day.
