Raja Criticizes Political Situation, Stresses Need for Imran Khan’s Meeting to Progress Talks
"The government has gone haywire; they have no basis." Raja said.
ISLAMABAD: Prominent lawyer and PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has strongly criticized the current political and legal situation in Pakistan, calling the country’s governance system dysfunctional. Speaking on Samaa TV’s ‘Nadeem Malik Live’, Raja expressed concern over the arrest of several PTI leaders, including Yasmin Rashid, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and Ijaz Chaudhry, stressing that they should be released in accordance with constitutional and legal principles.
Raja argued that the lack of adherence to legal requirements was hindering any meaningful negotiations. He emphasized that PTI was not seeking power but fighting for the country’s principles. Criticizing the government’s failure to allow meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, Raja stated that without such a meeting, talks could not move forward. He pointed out that while the government had suggested meeting with Imran Khan daily, no such meetings had taken place.
Raja condemned the government’s lack of direction, stating, “The government has gone haywire; they have no basis.” He also ruled out submitting written demands or agreements to the government, emphasizing PTI’s commitment to justice and transparency.

Raja further questioned the government’s refusal to allow PTI representatives to meet with Imran Khan, despite government negotiators consulting the Prime Minister. He called for the recognition of Imran Khan as the most senior political prisoner in Pakistan and reaffirmed that he would be the last to be released from jail.
