QUETTA: On Saturday morning, Quetta district and its surroundings experienced a 4.6 magnitude earthquake, causing temporary panic among residents. The seismic event had a depth of 98 kilometers, with its epicenter located in the Hindukush region, according to the seismological center.
While the tremors prompted people to evacuate their homes, reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba for reassurance, no casualties or property damage have been reported in any part of Quetta thus far.
In a similar incident in November, Gilgit and its neighboring areas were shaken by a 3.3 magnitude earthquake. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed the tremors in Gilgit and adjacent regions, emphasizing that no loss of life or property damage had been reported.
