Quaid-e-Azam University students announce campus-wide protest strike
Quaid-e-Azam University students protest against hostel shortage, demanding new accommodations as CDA operations affect private hostels near campus.
Mudassar Chudhry – The Quaid-e-Azam Students Federation at Islamabad’s Quaid-e-Azam University announced on Monday that it will continue a protest strike until their demands are met.
The university’s transport services have been suspended, and ongoing examinations may be disrupted due to the strike.
A federation spokesperson explained that thousands of students are currently forced to stay in private hostels near the campus.
The spokesperson added that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has begun operations against informal settlements, resulting in the demolition of some private hostels.
They said that “Our examinations will start from January 21, 2026, and the CDA should halt the ongoing operation immediately.”
