Punjab Govt Takes Remarkable Steps to Improve Education in 2024

CM Maryam Nawaz Pledges Modern Education for Every Child in Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced several outstanding measures to enhance the education sector in the year 2024. According to the provincial government, numerous initiatives have been undertaken to promote quality education and ensure greater accessibility for students across the region.

Among the key steps taken are the introduction of the “Honar Scholarship Program,” the first-ever public school reorganization, the Higher Education Internship Program, the Chief Minister’s School Nutrition initiative, and the establishment of a Kindergarten School in Lahore. Additionally, buses have been provided for girls’ colleges in every tehsil, further facilitating education for young women.

Other significant efforts include the launch of the “Back to School” campaign, the construction of new classrooms, and the establishment of science and IT laboratories in government schools. A detailed plan for introducing Artificial Intelligence education in early grades, inspired by China’s model, has also been requested.

Furthermore, the Punjab government has decided to build 5,000 new classrooms in PSRP schools and has successfully completed the recruitment of 7,354 college teacher interns for government colleges. The “Honar Scholarship” has been increased from 30,000 to 50,000, benefiting more deserving students.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of providing every child in the province with access to the best and most modern education. “We will ensure that there is no shortage of resources for children’s education, and we will continue to make changes and improvements in the education system to meet the demands of the modern era,” she said.

These comprehensive efforts mark a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and advanced education system in Punjab.
