Punjab CM directs authorities to stop Eid transport fare overcharging
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif orders strict action on extra fares and public safety during Eid.
CM Punjab – (Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered a strict crackdown on extra fares during Eid. She directed authorities to take legal action against anyone charging more than the prescribed fare. The CM asked that all districts enforce the official fares properly.
She also instructed officials to monitor ticket collection closely and stop any black market sales. Fare receipts should be clearly displayed at all bus stands.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif asked for arrangements to serve iftar to fasting passengers. She also ordered bus stands to be cleaned, seating to be improved, and fans to be provided for comfort.
She directed the Transport Department and other concerned authorities to carry out continuous checking duty in the field to provide relief to the public.
Maryam Nawaz said exploitation of poor passengers returning home on the occasion of Eid will not be allowed.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said fares should be displayed prominently at every bus stand and implementation should be ensured.

Maryam Nawaz also directed to closely monitor the movement of anti-social elements in bazaars and markets.
