PTI Leadership Supports Salman Akram Raja Amid Criticism from Sher Afzal Marwat

ISLAMABAD: In a show of solidarity, the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has firmly backed Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, despite recent criticism from Sher Afzal Marwat. The party’s founder, Imran Khan, and senior leaders have expressed their support for Raja, emphasizing that his appointment was a decision made directly by the party’s founder and aligned with the PTI constitution.
Barrister Gohar, a senior PTI leader, clarified that the appointment of Salman Akram Raja as Secretary General is an internal matter and in accordance with party guidelines. He underscored that the founder-chairman’s decisions are always in line with the party’s established rules.
Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi further commented that no disciplinary action had been taken against Marwat yet, but if necessary, action would be initiated according to the party’s instructions on discipline. Sources have revealed that PTI’s founder was displeased with Marwat’s remarks, which have led to frustration within the party ranks.

While no formal action has been taken against Sher Afzal Marwat, PTI’s leadership, including Barrister Gohar and Naqvi, made it clear that unity within the party is crucial and all matters should be handled in accordance with party regulations.
