PTI Leaders Granted Access to Meet Imran Khan at Adiala Jail
Five Leaders' Persistence Pays Off After Initial Standoff Over Jail Access

On Saturday, five leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received official approval to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal): This decision followed a brief standoff, as PTI leadership had initially refused to visit the jail unless all five leaders were allowed access. Initially, authorities had only approved three leaders—Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaiser, and Senator Ali Zafar—to meet Khan, leading the PTI to express their reluctance to proceed without their two colleagues.
Sheikh Waqas Akram, a PTI spokesperson, confirmed via a post on the social media platform X that the request for all five leaders to meet Khan had been granted. “We are now on our way to Adiala Jail for the meeting,” Akram stated, noting that the PTI’s insistence on including all five leaders had proven effective. He remarked, “The barrister’s obstinacy has worked,” highlighting the party’s united front.
Earlier in the day, Barrister Gohar, who was waiting for his colleagues in his office, had informed Kamran Murtaza, a PTI official, that they would not proceed with the visit unless Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and Hamid Raza were allowed to join them.
In another development, Sheikh Waqas Akram reported that Adiala Jail authorities had initially denied Salman Akram Raja the opportunity to meet Khan, adding to the tensions within PTI. However, the eventual approval for all five leaders has now made the visit possible.
