Barrister Gohar said that the PTI would file a review of the ECP’s decision.
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Monday announced that the party would not boycott the upcoming general elections 2024.
The decision came after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ruled that PTI would not be allowed to use its iconic bat symbol in the elections.
In a press conference, Barrister Gohar said that the PTI was disappointed with the ECP’s decision, but that the party would not back down or give up. He said that the decision had affected the rights of 25 million PTI supporters, and that it was a blow to democracy.
Barrister Gohar said that the PTI would file a review of the ECP’s decision, but that the party would also participate in the elections with any other symbol that was allocated to it. He said that the PTI was confident that it would win the elections, even without its traditional symbol.
