ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has warned users about possible internet slowdowns and temporary connectivity disruptions due to maintenance work on one of its submarine cables from May 11 to May 18.
In a statement shared on X, PTCL said the repair work is being conducted by the International Cable Consortium to address a fault in the undersea cable system that supports international internet traffic.

The telecom operator noted that customers may experience reduced internet performance, especially during evening hours, while the maintenance activity continues. However, the company maintained that the impact is expected to remain limited and temporary.
Pakistan relies heavily on submarine optical fibre cables for global internet connectivity, with PTCL managing three major undersea cable networks linked to the country’s communication infrastructure.
