President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the recent attack on a convoy of government vehicles in Lower Kurram, which left Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud and several other officials injured. The attack has raised serious concerns about the stability of the region and the peace efforts in the area.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the attack as a deliberate attempt to sabotage the ongoing peace agreement in Kurram. “This act of violence is a direct attempt to damage the peace agreement and disrupt the ongoing peace efforts in the region,” Sharif said, stressing the government’s firm stance on ensuring peace and security. He vowed that those behind the attack would not succeed in their malicious goals. “We will not allow those who disrupt peace and order to succeed in their nefarious designs,” he emphasized.
The Prime Minister also expressed his heartfelt prayers for the swift recovery of all those injured, particularly Deputy Commissioner Mehsud, who was hospitalized after the attack. “I pray for the swift recovery of all those injured in this tragic incident,” Sharif added.
President Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the attack, describing the perpetrators as enemies of the people. “Malignant elements who aim to spread chaos in the country must not be allowed to succeed,” Zardari stated. He echoed the Prime Minister’s call for unity and determination in defeating those seeking to destabilize Kurram. “The people of Pakistan will not allow these malicious forces to succeed in their nefarious purposes. We will stand united against those who seek to disrupt peace,” he affirmed.
Both leaders assured that the government and security forces are actively engaged in combatting terrorism and restoring order in the region. President Zardari also called for immediate action against those responsible for the attack, stressing that their actions must be met with swift and decisive consequences.

This attack comes shortly after the reopening of the Tal-Parachinar road, a vital route that had been closed for three months due to sectarian violence and tribal conflicts. The reopening of the road had marked a significant step toward restoring stability to the region, and the attack has raised concerns about the challenges still facing the peace process.
The government has vowed to remain committed to peace efforts in Kurram, ensuring that those behind such violent acts are held accountable for their actions.
