MIRPUR: A British Kashmiri woman, Farkhunda, has come forward with a harrowing account of harassment and attempted assault by a senior police officer in Azad Kashmir. Speaking at a press conference, Farkhunda alleged that Inspector Imran Ahmed, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Thoothal police station, subjected her to a terrifying ordeal.
Farkhunda’s ordeal began when she sought help from the police to regain possession of her house in Mirpur, which she had been trying to access for four months. A relative advised her to contact the Thoothal police station, where Inspector Imran Ahmed took charge of her case. However, instead of providing assistance, Inspector Ahmed allegedly began harassing Farkhunda, using immoral language and eventually taking her to his residence at gunpoint.
At his residence, Inspector Ahmed allegedly tried to force himself on Farkhunda, who managed to resist him. She recounted how she tried to escape and even attempted to contact her loved ones, but there was no phone signal. Farkhunda described how Inspector Ahmed tried to remove her burqa and how she barely managed to escape from his clutches.

The Inspector General of Police in Azad Kashmir has ordered the arrest of Inspector Imran Ahmed, and a team of senior officers is investigating the case.
