PMDC Raises MDCAT Eligibility Criteria
The PMDC has also made the MDCAT syllabus available on its official website for candidates to prepare accordingly.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced an increase in the minimum required marks for admission into MBBS and BDS programmes, raising the eligibility threshold for Intermediate (Pre-Medical) or equivalent qualifications from 60% to 65%.
A formal notification issued by the PMDC Registrar, Dr. Shaista, confirmed that the new criteria will apply to students seeking admission for the academic session 2025–2026. According to the updated policy, only candidates who secure at least 65% marks in FSc or equivalent exams will be eligible to apply for the MDCAT.
Additionally, applicants must take the MDCAT exam in their respective province or region of domicile. For candidates living abroad, the only designated international test center will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
