PM Shehbaz Sharif accepted application of Lt. Faiz Hameed for early retirement
Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accepted an application of Lt Gen Faiz Hameed for an early retirement. The Ministry of Defence forwarded the application to the prime minster for approval after receiving it from the military headquarters.
According to the sources, Lt. General Faiz, who is currently serving as Corps Commander Bahawalpur, sent his application to the General Headquarters (GHQ) a few days ago? The former spymaster was among the contenders for the top position in the Pakistan Army.
Furthermore he decided to take early retirement after the federal government appointed Gen Asim Munir as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
