PM Shehbaz Promises Federal Cooperation for Gilgit-Baltistan Development and Welfare
ISLAMABAD: (Special Reporter) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with the newly appointed Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan and congratulated him on assuming office, extending his best wishes for a successful tenure.
The prime minister assured the chief minister that the federal government would provide all possible assistance for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan, improving public services, and addressing the concerns of the region’s people.
The Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his congratulations and support. He also expressed appreciation for former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for their cooperation during the government formation process.
During the discussion, the chief minister outlined key challenges facing Gilgit-Baltistan and emphasized the importance of close coordination with the federal government. He said that after consultations on important matters, the provincial administration would work with federal authorities to prepare a comprehensive strategy focused on resolving public issues and promoting regional development.
PM Shehbaz Calls for Preserving Hard-Earned Peace Gains
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that PML-N would adopt a constructive and responsible approach as an opposition party in Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that the party would support initiatives in the public interest while continuing to highlight important issues through democratic means.
The Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister welcomed the approach, stating that political cooperation and understanding among major parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party and PML-N, reflected democratic maturity and could contribute to strengthening governance in the region.
He expressed hope that all political stakeholders would work together with mutual respect and cooperation to advance the welfare and prosperity of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
