The meeting is expected to focus on allocation of development funds for provinces in the next annual budget, 2026-27, along with deliberations on proposed legislative measures.
Sources said that some federal ministers are also likely to attend the meeting, indicating the significance of the discussions on governance and policy matters.
The development comes days after the last meeting between the two leaders on March 25, during which the overall national situation and Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the Gulf and broader region were discussed.
During that interaction, the prime minister had taken Bilawal into confidence regarding Pakistan’s efforts to ease tensions between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.
The earlier meeting was also attended by key figures including Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, highlighting the involvement of provincial leadership in national-level consultations.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to play a mediatory role in the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In a statement, he said Islamabad is prepared to host negotiations aimed at ending the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, stressing that dialogue remains essential for ensuring peace and stability in the region and beyond.
