PM Orders Immediate Suspension of Eight Officials in PIMS Case
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the immediate suspension of eight officials in connection with the PIMS incident, including the hospital’s Executive Director, Professor Dr Imran Sikandar.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, a high-level meeting on the PIMS incident was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, the interim report of the investigation committee was presented to the prime minister.
Following the committee’s recommendations, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the immediate suspension of eight individuals.
The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that PIMS Executive Director Professor Dr Imran Sikandar is among those suspended.
The decision comes as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the PIMS tragedy and determining responsibility for the incident.
