PM Reaffirms Ties With Malaysia During Saifuddin’s Visit

Saifuddin Nasution Pakistan visit sets stage for deeper security, trade and prisoner-transfer cooperation

Pakistan &  Malaysia – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs, Dato’ Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Friday. The Saifuddin Nasution Pakistan visit comes at a time when both countries are looking to widen cooperation across several key sectors.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the Malaysian minister warmly. He also sent his best wishes to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, asking after his health and hoping for his swift recovery.

Shehbaz Sharif spoke about Pakistan’s desire to build even stronger ties with Malaysia. He pointed to security, law enforcement, trade, and investment as areas where both nations could work more closely together in the coming months.

The two sides also touched on the wider regional situation. The Prime Minister thanked Malaysia for backing Pakistan’s efforts toward regional peace, calling it a sign of the trust between the two countries.

For his part, the Malaysian Home Minister passed on greetings from PM Anwar Ibrahim. He said Malaysia remains eager to grow its already solid relationship with Pakistan even further.

One of the biggest outcomes of the visit was the signing of the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons. The deal was signed by Malaysia’s Home Minister and Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, with the Prime Minister present to witness it.

Several senior Pakistani officials also attended the meeting. These included Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, and SAPM Tariq Fatemi, along with other top officials from both governments.

The visit is seen as a fresh step forward in Pakistan-Malaysia relations, especially in areas tied to law enforcement and regional stability.
