Peshawar Election Tribunal Orders Ads for Attendance in Election Result Petitions
The court has directed the Election Commission to submit a response regarding the case of PTI independent candidate Mehmood Jan from PK-71 by the next hearing.
PESHAWAR: The Election Tribunal has mandated the issuance of advertisements to ensure the attendance of all parties involved in petitions challenging the recent election results.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed of the Peshawar Election Tribunal presided over the hearing of these petitions. During the session, the tribunal stressed the need for advertisements to secure the presence of all concerned parties.
The petitioner’s lawyer highlighted that, according to the Election Act, decisions must be made within 180 days, and the Election Commission is required to respond within 7 days.

Notably, independent PTI candidates Kamran Bangash, Mehmood Jan, Malik Shahab, Arbab Jandad, Muhammad Asim, and Sajid Nawaz have filed petitions contesting the election results. Additionally, ANP leader and PK-89 candidate Mian Iftikhar has also lodged a petition challenging the outcomes.
