PCB suspends official after handshake row at Asia Cup match.

A handshake disagreement at the Asia Cup leads to a suspension and a formal complaint from the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) -The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended its Director, Usman Wahla. The action was taken on Monday. The board says he did not act quickly enough during a recent problem at the Asia Cup. He was supposed to address the conduct of the match referee and the Indian team.

Sources close to the event say Wahla was disciplined. They say he did not respond quickly to the behavior of the Indian team and referee Andy Pycroft. It is claimed that Mr. Pycroft stopped the players from shaking hands after the game.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was very unhappy about what happened. He stated that protecting the country’s dignity is the board’s most important job. “For me, my country comes first. The honor and respect of Pakistan will always be protected,” Naqvi said.

The problem started after a match between India and Pakistan. Reports say the Indian players did not shake hands with the Pakistan team when the game ended.

Earlier, the PCB sent a formal letter of complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). In it, they accuse referee Andy Pycroft of breaking the official rules of cricket. The board called his instructions a “serious breach” of the game’s spirit. They believe it hurt the integrity of cricket. The letter states that Pycroft told Pakistan’s captain there would be no handshake. He also allegedly told the media team not to film the moment.
