Young stars shine at Junior National Tennis Championship

Rising tennis stars battle it out in thrilling singles and doubles action at Lahore's iconic Punjab Tennis Academy.

National Tennis Championship – (Web Desk) – The Servis Tyres Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 has entered an exciting semifinal stage at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore, with some impressive performances from the country’s rising tennis talent.

Ahtesham Humayun opened the day with a commanding display, brushing aside Muhammad Muaz 6-1, 6-2 to book his semifinal spot. Aliyan Ali also advanced with a confident 6-0, 6-4 victory over Inam Qadir.

Perhaps the most dominant performances came from Amir Mazari and Muhammad Yahya, both of whom delivered crushing 6-0, 6-0 whitewashes against their respective opponents, Ohad-e-Mustafa and Muteeb-ur-Rehman, leaving no doubt about their intentions in the tournament.

The doubles quarterfinals were equally thrilling. The partnership of Amir Mazari and Ahtesham Humayun proved too strong for Ohad-e-Mustafa and Ahmad Fareed Yawar, winning convincingly 6-2, 6-2. In the other match, Muhammad Yahya and Inam Qadir edged out Muhammad Muaz and Muhammad Ahmad Afzal in a hard-fought contest, 7-5, 6-4.

With the semifinals now set, fans can expect even fiercer competition as these young champions battle for national glory.

In the girls U-18 category, Bismal Zia beat Khadija Khalil 6-2, 6-3, Anaya Khan outclassed Fatima Ali 6-0, 6-1, and Hajra Sohail registered a commanding win over Hadia Ali 6-0, 6-0. In the boys U-14 quarterfinals, Muhammad Muaz defeated Ahmad Fareed Yawar 4-0, 4-1, Shayan Afridi beat Ohad-e-Mustafa 4-1, 4-2, Muhammad Aayan overcame Mustafa Uzair Rana 4-1, 4-1, and Muhammad Faizan edged past M. Ibraheem Hussain Gill 4-1, 5-3. In the boys U-14 doubles, Daniyal Abdullah and Shahzain Faisal beat Zayd Mansoor and Daniyal Afzal Malik 4-0, 5-4.

Meanwhile, in the girls U-14 quarterfinals, Khadija Khalil defeated Wajeeha Fatima 4-0, 4-0, Hajra Sohail beat Shahnoor Umer 4-0, 4-0, and Eman Shahbaz overcame Zainah Abdullah 4-0, 4-1. In the boys and girls U-10 category, Zahran Zeeshan beat Wajeeha Fatima 6-2, while Ibrahim Khan Leghari defeated Ibrahim Faizan 6-0, as the championship continues to showcase the rising future of Pakistan tennis.
