Dambulla: (Sports Reporter) – Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in the third and final T20 International at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
After winning the toss, Pakistan restricted the hosts to 113 runs for six wickets before chasing down the target in 18.2 overs.
Opener Ayesha Zafar played a match-winning knock of 39 runs from 31 balls, including six boundaries, while Shawwal Zulfiqar contributed 21 runs and Muneeba Ali scored 19.
Sri Lanka had already secured the three-match series after winning the second T20I by six wickets, but Pakistan ended the campaign on a winning note.
Earlier, Pakistan had posted 175 for five in the previous match after a strong opening partnership between Muneeba Ali and Shawwal Zulfiqar. Muneeba scored 45 off 30 balls, while Shawwal made 48 from 35 deliveries.
For Sri Lanka, captain Chamari Athapaththu provided a quick 40 off 15 balls, while Sanjana Kavindi and Harshitha Samarawickrama also contributed, but Pakistan’s bowling attack restricted their progress.
