Pakistan Appoints Michael Smith as New Batting Coach

Islamabad: (Sports Reporter) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former South African first-class cricketer Michael Smith as the new batting coach of the national cricket team.

The 46-year-old coach has been given a two-year contract and will work with both Pakistan’s red-ball and white-ball squads.

During his playing career, Michael Smith scored 7,029 runs across first-class, List A and T20 cricket, including nine centuries and 40 half-centuries.

Smith holds a Level Four coaching qualification and has previously served as part of the coaching staff for three HBL PSL franchises. He has also worked as batting coach with Hobart Hurricanes and Cricket Tasmania.

The newly appointed batting coach will join the Pakistan team ahead of the upcoming Test series against England. The three-match Test series is scheduled to begin on August 19.
