Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Makes SIM Registration Mandatory

Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has mandated that all SIM cards must be registered in the name of the actual user.

According to a PTA statement, using a SIM registered in someone else’s name constitutes a violation of the law, and the registered user will be fully responsible for any misuse of the SIM.

The PTA emphasized that users are accountable for the use of their SIM cards and telecom connections. Compliance with rules regarding calls, messages, and data usage is mandatory, and violations may result in legal action.

The authority urged users to act responsibly to contribute to the security and stability of the country’s telecommunications system.
