Pakistan Security Forces Kill 29 Militants in Border Operations

The strikes destroyed three terrorist targets, killing 25 militants and destroying large quantities of weapons

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s security forces have killed 29 militants in a series of intelligence-based operations conducted along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, targeting terrorist hideouts in response to recent attacks on civilians and security personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi.

According to an official statement, on June 28, 2026, security forces launched an intelligence-based ground operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the operation, three militants affiliated with the Indian proxy group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar were killed, including high-value commander Khan Farosh alias Zabal, while several others were injured.

As part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, security forces also carried out precision strikes overnight on June 28-29 against confirmed terrorist camps and hideouts linked to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Fitna al-Khawarij in the border regions of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar in Afghanistan.

The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to regional peace and stability but will not compromise on the safety and security of its citizens. It added that counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, approved by the Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
