Pakistan, Russia Plan Anti-Corruption and Money Laundering MoU

NAB, Russian Prosecutor General’s Office to Deepen Institutional Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk)  Pakistan and Russia are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in combating corruption and money laundering on November 6, according to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

NAB Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed met Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev to discuss matters of mutual interest, including institutional transparency, anti-corruption measures and cooperation between the two countries’ relevant institutions.

According to NAB, the meeting led to an understanding between the two sides to sign an MoU between NAB and Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office.

The signing ceremony is expected to be held in Moscow on November 6.

The proposed agreement aims to strengthen institutional coordination between Pakistan and Russia in areas related to preventing corruption, combating money laundering and promoting transparency.

During the meeting, Ambassador Khorev reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to expanding constructive dialogue and institutional cooperation with Pakistan.

The two sides also exchanged views on ways to enhance collaboration in transparency and anti-corruption efforts.

The proposed MoU is expected to establish a framework for closer coordination and information sharing between the relevant institutions of Pakistan and Russia.
