Pakistan Navy Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Patriotic Zeal and Military Tradition

Commodore Tasawar Iqbal, Commandant of Pakistan Naval Academy, was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.

Karachi (News Desk) – The Pakistan Navy celebrated the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional fervour, military discipline, and heartfelt national spirit. Marking the occasion, a dignified Change of Guard ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, where cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy and sailors, dressed in ceremonial uniforms, took over guard duties with precision and respect.

Commodore Tasawar Iqbal, Commandant of Pakistan Naval Academy, was the Chief Guest at the ceremony. He reviewed the smartly turned-out naval contingent and joined the cadets in presenting Qaumi Salam to the Father of the Nation. A ceremonial floral wreath was laid at Mazar-e-Quaid on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, officers, and personnel of the Pakistan Navy, paying tribute to the leadership and legacy of Quaid-e-Azam.

The day began with traditional gun salutes and special prayers offered in mosques across all naval establishments. These prayers sought divine blessings for national unity, peace, and prosperity. In a display of unity and discipline, flag hoisting ceremonies were simultaneously held at major naval units and stations, including those in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Gwadar, Sanghar, and Ormara.

The Pakistan Navy, on this national day, reaffirmed its unshakable commitment to the defence of the homeland. The force emphasized its resolve to protect Pakistan’s maritime frontiers and stand ready against any form of threat or aggression. The Independence Day celebrations served as a reminder of the Navy’s role in safeguarding national sovereignty and upholding the values for which Pakistan was created.
