Pakistan Kenya Trade Agreement Boosts Exports Past $1B
New Pakistan Kenya Trade Agreement Drives Record Exports
Pakistan & Kenya – (Web Desk) – Pakistan and Kenya have just hit a big trade milestone. Thanks to years of hard work around the Pakistan Kenya trade agreement, business between the two nations has crossed the one billion dollar mark for the first time ever.
In the financial year 2025-26, Pakistan sold goods worth $434.7 million to Kenya. That’s the highest export figure ever recorded between the two countries.
This success didn’t happen overnight. Pakistan’s Commercial Counselor and the team at the High Commission worked closely with Kenyan officials, trade groups, and local businesses for two straight years.
They organized trade delegations and joined five major exhibitions back home, including FoodAg, HEMS, PATDC, TEXPO, and WHX. Kenyan buyers signed deals worth millions of dollars right there on the exhibition floor.
One big win came from rice. The team convinced Kenya’s Revenue Authority to lower the customs value on Pakistani rice, dropping it from $615 to $450. That single move made Pakistani rice much cheaper and easier to sell in Kenya.
Healthcare also got a boost. Over 35 Pakistani pharmaceutical companies are now inspected and registered with Kenya’s Pharmacy and Poisons Board, opening new doors for medicine exports.
Another milestone was the second Pakistan-Kenya Joint Trade Committee meeting. This was the first time the committee ever met in person, and talks are now moving toward a free trade deal with the East African Community.
There’s also good news on the horizon. The Basmati rice geographical indication case is still active, and there’s real hope it will end in Pakistan’s favor.
Together, these steps show how steady diplomacy and smart trade planning can turn into real results. As the Pakistan Kenya trade agreement talks continue, both countries look set for even stronger business ties ahead.
