Pakistan Dominates Day One with 24 Medals at 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship
Islamabad – Pakistan displayed an outstanding performance on the first day of the 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championship 2025 in the Poomsae category, winning a total of 24 medals, including 8 Golds, 7 Silvers, and 9 Bronzes. The event, held at Liaquat Gymnasium in Islamabad, saw Pakistani athletes showcase their skills with an impressive start to the competition.
Gold Medalists on Day One (Poomsae Category):
- Hussain Adil (Individual Under 30 Male)
- Hussain Mudassir (Individual Under 40 Male)
- Khan Muhammad (Individual Under 50 Male)
- Nisa Mehrunnisa (Individual Under 30 Female)
- Sabir Sana (Individual Under 50 Female)
- Hussain/Naila (Pair Under 30)
- Mumtaz/Bashir (Pair Over 30)
- Hashmi Syed Zareef (Afghanistan) (Individual Under 60 Male)
Silver and Bronze Medalists: Latif Kainat, Shafaqat Ayesha, Ahmad Shahbaz, Anas Muhammad, Ali Irshad, Usmani Rafiah, and other athletes also played a significant role in Pakistan’s medal tally in the Poomsae category.
This championship is being organized by the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) in collaboration with COMEBACKS, and features top Taekwondo athletes from around the world. The event aims to promote Taekwondo in Pakistan and provide local athletes with international-level competition experience.
Colonel (R) Wasim Ahmed Janjua, President of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, praised the exceptional performance of the national athletes:

The championship will continue until February 20th.
