Pakistan crush Hong Kong 8-0 in U-18 Asia Hockey Cup opener

A total of 11 teams are participating in the tournament.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Under-18 hockey team defeated Hong Kong 8-0 in their opening match of the U-18 Asia Hockey Cup in Dazhou, China.

The Pakistani squad arrived in China just hours before the match due to a delay in receiving travel visas.

The team reached Dazhou, the host city, without having time for a single training session or warm-up game.

Despite this, the players delivered a stellar performance that left their opponents stunned.

The Asia Cup tournament had already begun two days earlier, but Pakistan joined late and made their debut in style.

Facing Hong Kong in their first encounter, Pakistan displayed exceptional form and coordination.

They netted 1 goal in the second quarter, 2 in the third, and launched a full assault in the final quarter with 5 goals — completely overwhelming Hong Kong’s defence.
