Pakistan-Bangladesh Second Test Moved from Karachi to Rawalpindi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed that the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh, originally planned for Karachi, will now take place in Rawalpindi. This adjustment, decided in consultation with the Bangladesh Cricket Board, is due to the ongoing construction at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium in advance of the ICC Champions Trophy.

The revised match dates are set for August 30 to September 3. The PCB indicated that the ongoing construction could create substantial noise and smoke, which might disturb players, officials, broadcasters, and media personnel. To prepare the National Bank Stadium for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, both Test matches will now be hosted in Rawalpindi.

The PCB also stated that it is premature to consider the possibility of holding the second Test in Karachi from October 15 to 19. They will keep collaborating with architects and construction experts to ensure a safe venue for the match.
