Dance of the Hillary' Video: Truth Behind Claims of Mobile Data Loss

Recently, a message urging people to shut down ATMs and refrain from online transactions has been spreading rapidly across social media platforms in Pakistan.

The concerning message alleges that viewing a video titled ‘Dance of the Hillary‘ will lead to the loss of mobile phone data.

An inquiry into the truth behind this message has shown that it’s not a recent occurrence. A quick Google search reveals that similar warnings have been circulating worldwide since 2016.

The content of the viral message closely resembles earlier warnings from 2016, with only minor changes in wording and references. International media outlets have discredited these warnings as unfounded rumors, lacking any evidence of a real threat.

Despite the widespread circulation of such messages, neither the State Bank of Pakistan nor any private banks have issued official warnings about these claims. ATMs throughout the country are functioning normally, and digital transactions continue without disruption.

Although fraud and theft involving mobile phones and online transactions can happen, there is no evidence to support the specific allegations made in this viral message. The public is advised to ignore these unverified claims and proceed with their transactions as usual.
