Pakistan, Bahrain Strengthen Digital Cooperation and Economic Investment Opportunities

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to enhance cooperation in technology, telecommunications and investment as both countries seek to expand economic partnerships and attract foreign capital.
The development came during a meeting between Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in Geneva.
During the discussion, Pakistan invited Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in key sectors, including information technology, food security, tourism and other priority areas identified for economic growth.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja briefed her Bahraini counterpart on Pakistan’s investment potential and highlighted the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in providing support and creating a business-friendly environment for international investors.
The two sides held detailed talks on strengthening cooperation in IT, telecommunications, digital transformation and connectivity. They also agreed to promote innovation, exchange expertise and develop joint initiatives to support technological advancement.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration in technology and communication sectors, expressing confidence that stronger ties would open new avenues for investment, digital development and sustainable economic growth.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the SIFC in facilitating international partnerships and encouraging greater economic cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.
