Chinese FM Wang Yi reiterates full support for Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and regional role
BEIJING/ISLAMABAD — In a significant diplomatic development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a high-level meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, reaffirming the enduring strength of the Pakistan–China strategic partnership.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi emphasized that the Pakistani army is a pillar of national stability and a strong guardian of Pakistan–China friendship and cooperation. He commended the military’s consistent support for implementing the key consensuses reached between the leaderships of both nations.
“In the face of growing global uncertainties, promoting strong Pakistan–China relations is highly beneficial for regional peace and stability,” said Wang Yi, reiterating that China gives top priority to Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy.
Highlighting the historical bond, he noted that despite global and domestic challenges, the friendship between China and Pakistan has grown even stronger, rooted in deep mutual trust and strategic alignment.
Wang Yi assured Beijing’s continued support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, national security, and growing global role, calling the two countries’ relationship a model of traditional friendship.

On his part, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hailed China as Pakistan’s “iron brother”, stating that the strategic partnership is as solid as a rock. He emphasized that maintaining strong relations with China is the unanimous will of the Pakistani nation.
The army chief thanked China for its continued support in Pakistan’s economic and social development, and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to enhancing counter-terrorism and security cooperation, especially in light of growing regional threats.
“Pakistan will take all necessary steps to ensure the protection of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions,” said Field Marshal Munir.
He pledged continued efforts to strengthen the Pakistan–China friendship and accelerate development cooperation, especially under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The meeting comes amid heightened regional dynamics, underscoring the strategic alignment and unwavering support between the two long-standing allies.
