Nationwide protests begin against a proposed constitutional amendment in Pakistan.

27th Constitutional Amendment – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – A major opposition group, the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayein-i-Pakistan (TTAP), has announced a series of nationwide protests. They are calling on all citizens to oppose a planned change to the country’s constitution, which they label a very dangerous move.

The government’s proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment has moved forward quickly. After the cabinet approved it, the bill was presented in the Senate and sent to a committee for further review.

In a joint video message, leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas stated that the protest campaign will start on Sunday, November 9. Abbas expressed that the country’s democratic systems are not functioning and that the people must now make their voices heard. He argued the amendment gives the government too much control.

Abbas stressed that it is the public’s duty to speak out against what he called a dark and harmful change to the nation’s founding document.
