Empowering Basketball Coaches: Successful Conclusion of Olympic Solidarity Level-I Coaching Course in Lahore

In a significant stride towards advancing basketball coaching expertise in Pakistan, the Olympic Solidarity Basketball (WABC) Level-I Coaching Course reached its successful conclusion in Lahore after an intensive 6-day program. The event, orchestrated by the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF), brought together fifteen dedicated male and female coaches from across the nation, marking a pivotal moment for the sport’s development.

The closing ceremony witnessed esteemed speakers, including Secretary General of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Ch Khalid Mahmood and PBBF President Brig (Retd) M Iftikhar Mansoor. The presence of dignitaries such as DIG Police Ghazi M Salahuddin, FIBA’s Serbian Coaching Instructor Milan Kotarac, PBBF Secretary General Khalid Bashir, Muhammad Azam Dar, and others underscored the significance of the occasion.

FIBA’s Serbian Coaching Instructor Milan Kotarac, addressing the attendees, expressed optimism about the wealth of basketball coaching talent in Pakistan. He emphasized that the course had not only honed their skills but also equipped them with modern coaching techniques to nurture budding basketball players from grassroots levels.

POA Secretary General Khalid Mahmood highlighted the strategic intent behind organizing the course, stating that its primary goal was to empower national coaches with advanced techniques and knowledge. The concerted effort aimed to fortify the basketball coaching system across the country, fostering an environment conducive to the growth of the sport. He acknowledged the support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in making the high-profile course possible.
