OGRA Meeting Focuses on Strengthening Safety Standards for LPG Bowzers and Storage Tanks

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting was held at the Regional Office of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in Lahore to address safety standards within the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) industry. The meeting, chaired by Mr. Zain Ul Abideen, Member Oil, OGRA, included senior officials from the LPG and Enforcement departments.

During the session, LPG bowzer and storage tank manufacturers were directed to adhere to strict safety protocols, with a key directive to ensure that no bowzer is manufactured with a capacity exceeding 30 metric tons, exclusive of the 15% allowance. The meeting underscored the importance of safe manufacturing practices to prevent risks in LPG transportation and handling.

OGRA officials revealed that the data provided by manufacturers is under review to ensure compliance with established standards. The Enforcement teams are also planning inspections across manufacturing units to ensure safety regulations are followed. OGRA emphasized its commitment to eliminating illegal manufacturing practices and ensuring the highest safety standards for public protection.
