OGRA Approves Massive Gas Price Hike for Sui Northern & Sui Southern
ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved a notable increase in gas prices for the ongoing financial year. The approved price hikes include an 8.71% increase for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and a much steeper 25.78% rise for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
According to OGRA’s statement, the new average gas price for Sui Northern will be set at Rs 1,778.35 per MMBTU (Million British Thermal Units), while the new average price for Sui Southern will be Rs 1,762.51 per MMBTU.
While OGRA has approved the revised gas prices, the final decision will be taken after consulting the federal government. This price adjustment comes amid ongoing efforts to manage the country’s energy sector challenges.
