MUMBAI: (Web Desk) – Nora Fatehi has broken her silence over the controversy surrounding the Hindi version of the song Sarke Chunar from the film KD: The Devil. The track recently sparked criticism over alleged vulgarity, leading to a petition and its subsequent removal from YouTube following a government ban.
In a video statement shared on social media, Nora clarified that she originally shot the song in Kannada about three years ago and had no involvement in the Hindi adaptation. She explained that the version released in Hindi was done without her approval and urged the public not to hold her responsible for the controversy.

She further stated that she was unaware of the meaning of the Kannada lyrics at the time of filming and had been given a different interpretation by the makers. Nora also alleged that her image was used without consent in the Hindi release, raising concerns over unauthorized usage.
Addressing another issue, she criticized the use of AI-generated visuals featuring her and Sanjay Dutt, calling it inappropriate and misleading. She appealed to fans to stop sharing the Hindi version of the song to avoid further backlash and emphasized that accountability should lie with the filmmakers rather than performers.
Amid the controversy, Nora also revealed she is going through a difficult personal time due to the recent loss of someone close to her. Meanwhile, Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the Hindi version of the song had been banned following approval in the Lok Sabha, highlighting the need to balance freedom of expression with reasonable restrictions.
