Nawaz Sharif Named Lahore Heritage Revival Board Chairman

LAHORE: (Staff Reporter) – Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been appointed chairman of the newly established Lahore Heritage Area Revival Board.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Local Government Department, the Governor of Punjab approved the formation of the board with immediate effect.

The notification stated that the board has been constituted under the provisions of the Punjab Walled Cities and Heritage Areas Authority Act, 2012.

Nawaz Sharif, who is also a member of the National Assembly representing NA-130, will head the board as its chairman.

The Lahore Heritage Area Revival Board has been tasked with overseeing the preservation, restoration, conservation, and rehabilitation of Lahore’s historic sites and culturally significant heritage areas, with the aim of protecting and promoting the city’s architectural and historical legacy.
