ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif emphasized that the prosperity of the people and advancing Pakistan’s development to the ranks of developed nations is the core agenda of his party.
Sharif made these remarks during a meeting with PML-N leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province he referred to as the “heart of Pakistan.” He acknowledged that political crises have often derailed the country’s progress but expressed confidence that the nation is now on the right path toward prosperity.
The former Prime Minister praised the significant sacrifices made by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in both the Pakistan Movement and the ongoing fight against terrorism. He reiterated that PML-N remains steadfast in its commitment to reforming institutions and systems to ensure the country’s continued development and prosperity.
Nawaz Sharif further stated that the PML-N government has taken proactive measures to guide the country out of political turmoil, halting the nation’s decline. He expressed optimism about Pakistan’s future and its return to progress and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Expands Federal Cabinet
In a related development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expanded his federal cabinet, inducting 27 new members, including representatives from allied parties. The new members include 13 federal ministers, 11 state ministers, and three advisers, who took the oath at a ceremony at the President House in Islamabad.
President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also in attendance. With the new additions, the federal cabinet now comprises 46 members.
The newly appointed federal ministers are Hanif Abbasi, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Moin Watto, Mustafa Kamal, Sardar Yusuf, Ali Parvez, Shaza Fatima, Junaid Anwar, Khalid Magsi, Pir Imran Shah, Aurangzeb Khachi, Rana Mubasher, and Raza Hayat Haraj. The 11 state ministers include Barrister Aqeel Malik, Malik Rasheed, Armaghan Subhani, Talal Chaudhry, Khyel Das, Rehman Kanju, Bilal Kayani, Mukhtar Bharat, Shazra Mansab, Anwar Chaudhry, and Wajiha Qamar. Additionally, three new advisers have been appointed: Muhammad Ali, Tauqir Shah, and Pervez Khattak.
This cabinet expansion, nearly a year after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assumed office, aims to strengthen the government’s governance and political strategy as the nation continues to navigate its challenges.
