MWM Calls for Peaceful End to Karachi Sit-ins Following Agreement

KARACHI: The Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) has officially called off its sit-ins in Karachi, following the signing of a peace agreement aimed at restoring normalcy in Kurram. The announcement was made by MWM’s chief, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, during a press conference held in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Addressing the media, Allama Abbas expressed his satisfaction with the peace agreement signed in Kohat between the involved parties. He stressed the importance of timely implementation of the agreement and urged all participants of the Karachi sit-ins to peacefully conclude their protests.

“My demand is that there should be no delay in the implementation of this agreement. I call on all participants in the sit-ins to end their protests peacefully,” Abbas stated. He further thanked the people who stood in solidarity with the oppressed and hoped they would return to their homes peacefully.

The MWM had organized sit-ins at over a dozen key locations across Karachi, which had caused significant disruption to the city’s traffic and daily routine. The protests were staged to express solidarity with the people of Parachinar, a region that has faced ongoing hostilities for nearly three months.
