Monsoon’s next spell begins August 14, heavy rains coming soon
Tourists and travelers are urged to avoid non-essential trips during this period.
Islamabad – AJK -Punjab – KP – GB – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted a rise in monsoon activity next week, with widespread rains expected in Islamabad, Kashmir, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan from August 14 to 17. Some areas may experience heavy downpours during this time, bringing much-needed rainfall but also raising safety concerns.
From August 18 to 21, rain is likely to persist in parts of Kashmir, while showers are also expected in several districts of Punjab, Balochistan, and KP. Authorities have warned about the possibility of flooding in streams and small rivers, along with the risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Lahore, Peshawar, and Nowshera.

Officials have also cautioned about potential damage to weak structures and the risk of trees being uprooted due to strong winds and heavy rain. Tourists and travelers are advised to postpone any non-essential trips during the forecast period to stay safe and avoid disruptions.
