Pakistan’s Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit. His Mohsin Naqvi Dhaka official visit marks an important step in strengthening cricket ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Upon landing at Dhaka Airport, Mohsin Naqvi received a warm welcome. Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Saaim, Interior Secretary Abu Naeem, and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nazmul Din were present to receive him. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, also attended the arrival ceremony.

During his stay, Mohsin Naqvi is expected to meet Tamim Iqbal, who is currently serving as acting president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The two leaders are likely to discuss plans and arrangements for the upcoming Asia Cup 2026.
These talks hold special importance as both boards look to finalize the tournament’s structure and hosting details well in advance.
Besides his role as PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi will also attend meetings as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Representatives from several ACC member countries are also expected to join the discussions in Dhaka.
This makes the visit significant not just for Pakistan-Bangladesh cricket relations, but for the entire Asian cricket community.
This trip reflects a growing focus on cricket diplomacy in the region. With the Asia Cup on the horizon, all eyes will be on the outcome of these high-level meetings in Dhaka.
