Mir Raza Ali Case Judicial Commission to Probe Karachi Murder Mystery

Sindh – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The Mir Raza Ali case judicial commission is set to be formed soon, Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar confirmed on Sunday. He said senior high court judges will lead the probe into the mysterious killing of young businessman Mir Raza Ali.

Lanjar shared this update during a Geo News show called “Naya Pakistan.” He said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah held a special meeting on the matter. During that meeting, both leaders agreed that a judicial commission was the right way forward.

“We want high court judges to look into this case,” Lanjar said. He added that forming this panel was something the moment truly demanded.

Mir Raza Ali went missing on July 28. A day later, his body turned up in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi. His family has been waiting for answers ever since.

The minister also announced a change in the investigation team. DIG Amir Farooqi will now lead this fresh group. Lanjar said the family can also suggest any police officer they trust to join the team.

He stressed that the government stands firmly with Mir Raza’s grieving family. “Delivering justice is our duty,” he said. He also mentioned that no evidence so far points to any powerful or high-profile person behind this act.

Doctor’s Objections Addressed

Lanjar was also asked about police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed’s concerns over the earlier post-mortem. He said she should have raised these issues with the government directly instead of staying quiet. According to him, her silence created unnecessary confusion and criticism for officials.

A five-member committee was already set up after the body was exhumed. DIG Amir Farooqi heads this group, while SSP Ali Raza serves as its secretary. Other members include SP Qais Khan, SP Anum Tajammul, and an officer from the Special Investigation Unit.

Sindh IGP Javed Alam Odho ordered this new committee after dissolving the previous one.

Lanjar revealed that a formal letter will reach the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court on Monday. This letter will officially request the judicial commission’s formation.

He urged Mir Raza’s parents to trust the ongoing process. Even a tiny clue, he said, could help crack this difficult case wide open.

What the New Autopsy Found

The fresh post-mortem revealed disturbing details. Doctors found a gunshot wound fired from behind. Ali’s ribs were broken, and his face and head carried multiple injury marks.

Investigators also noticed black marks on his skin, wounds on his feet, and blood stains on lower body tissues. A deep 12-centimetre injury was found on his right thigh.

His jaw showed a fracture, and his nose and face carried further damage. His chest also suffered serious harm, including a broken sixth rib.

Lanjar admitted the crime scene wasn’t preserved properly at first. He said too much public debate could add more confusion, so the commission should get space to find the truth.

“Even if there’s just one percent doubt, our investigation should be one hundred percent thorough,” he said firmly. He added that no single officer’s opinion is ever final, and probes can shift direction as new facts emerge.
